Day Giyorgis Church

According to tradition, the original church was constructed by Emperor Takla Māryām (reigned 1430-1433) and destroyed during the invasions of Aḥmad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Ghazi in the 16th century; a new foundation was consecrated in 1968
