Collegium Borromaeum

Theological seminary located in Freiburg im Breisgau. A seminary was first established on the former site of a Capuchin monastery in Freiburg, Collegium Borromaeum, and in 1827 it opened as a seminary that had a complicated history: moving in part to the Benedictine abbey of St. Peter in the Black Forest in 1842, and reopening and closing due to political events, including the Kulturkampf (1874-1883). In 1929-1932, the building was renovated and in 1932 the seminary was given the name Collegium Borromaeum.
