Servites

Mendicant religious order founded in 1233 by seven members of patrician families in Florence, Italy. The Servites followed the Rule of Saint Augustine along with their own rule as a guide to religious life. The order includes friars (priests and brothers), contemplative nuns, a congregation of active religious sisters, and lay groups.
