London (Ship of the line : 1766-1811)
A second-rate ship of the line, designs by Sir Thomas Slade and constructed by Edward Allin in Chatham Dockyard. It was launched in May 1766, and was commissioned for the first time in November 1778. Primarily commissioned for Channel service through the 1780s and 1790s, the London was later active in the Atlantic in early-1806. It was decommissioned by 1809 and broken up at Chatham Dockyard in 1811.
