Abbazia delle tre fontane (Rome, Italy)
Monastic community that began in 626, when Honorius I gave the church and monastic complex to a Benedictine community. In the tenth century, the monastery was incorporated into the Cluniac Order; however, in 1140 Pope Innocent II entrusted the community to Bernard of Clairvaux and the Cistercians. It was suppressed in 1812. The monastery was reoponed in 1868, when the Trappists occupied the abandoned space under Cardinal Giuseppe Milesi Pironi Ferretti.
