Kirakos, Gandzaketsʻi, 1201-1271
He was an Armenian historian and cleric of the Armenian church, who composed a History of Armenia (Patmutʻiwn Hayotsʻ) between 1241 and 1265, which includes an account of the Mongol conquests; he comprised an expanded version of the Armenian Synaxarion (Yaysmawurk‘) between 1253 and 1269.

- Kirakos Ganjakecʻi (K. of Gandzak) or Arewelc‘i (Kirakos "of the East"); born in Ganjak, died 1271, probably in the Monastery of Nor Getik; 13th century Armenian historian; taught by Vanakan Vardapet; educated at Xoranasat Monastery; taken captive by the Mongols in 1225; probably abbot of Nor Getik after 1251
