Gavarni, Paul, 1804-1866

French printmaker, illustrator, and painter, active in Paris. He produced thousands of illustrations for journals and magazines and is best known for his caricature and fashion work. Paul Gavarni was the pseudonym of Sulpice Guillaume Chevalier.
