Odo, of Cheriton, -1246
English theologian, fabulist, and preacher. He studied at the Université de Paris, where he taught as well as preached around the capital and in the countryside for a couple of decades. His association with the Cistercians may have been limited to money owed to him by an abbey near Rouen. Upon returning to England, he became head of the family estate. During his life, he produced sermons, fables, exegeses, and a manual of clerical instruction.
