Sihāb ad-Dīn a. ʼt-Tanāʼ Maḥmūd b. Salmān b. Fahd al-Ḥalabī al-Ḥanbalī, b. 644/1246, in Damascus; d. Shaʻbān 725/1325; studied Fiqh and Adab and was a Ḥanbalī Qādī, then traveled to Egypt, then returned to Damascus and died there on August 4, 1325; he was famed as a poet
