Thomas, of Froidmont, -approximately 1225

English Cistercian monk and hagiographer, who began his ecclesiastical career in the household of Thomas à Becket, archbishop of Canterbury. Presumably upon the latter's death, he entered the Cistercian order at the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Froidmont, where he wrote a biography of the canonized archbishop. He was the younger brother of the Christian pilgrim and crusader Margaret of Beverley (also known as Margaret of Jerusalem), whom he encouraged to take holy vows upon her return to Europe.
