Matilda, of Anjou, approximately 1111-1154

French noblewoman, who married in 1119 to William Adelin, son and heir apparent of Henry I of England. After the death of her husband, she took her vows at Fontevrault Abbey in 1128. In 1150, she became the abbess until her death in 1154.
