Resende, André de, 1498-1573

Portuguese Dominican theologian, archaeologist, and historian of works in Portuguese and Latin. He is considered to be the father of archaeology in Portugal. He is not to be confused with relative André Falcão de Resende (1527-1599), a jurist, translator, and poet.
