Abgar V, King of Edessa, 4 BCE-50 CE
Known as Ukkāmā ("the Black" in Syriac), Abgar was King of Osroene. A contemporary of Jesus, he is considered as being one of the first Christian kings. He is a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
