Alejandro, de la Madre de Dios, 1656-1708
Spanish Discalced Trinitarian born in Tomelloso (Ciudad-Real) to Benito Sánchez and María Escudero on March 6, 1656. He studied theology and philosophy at the Universidad de Alcalá, later becoming a lecturer. He became a novice on September 27, 1671 and professed on October 2, 1672. He became prior of the Convent of Alcalá de Henares, and later of the Convent in Toledo (1695). He later held several leadership positions, including Procurador General of the Discalced Trinitarians in Spain, Comisario General of the Order in Austria-Hungary, Provincial of Espirtú Santo (1701-1704), and Definidor General (1704-1707). He died in Madrid on January 23, 1708.
