Janāwī, Khalīl, active 1798-1848
He was a Melkite Greek Orthodox priest and scribe, who copied manuscripts in Mīdān Dimashq al-Shām in Damascus. He illustrated and decorated his manuscripts, usually in red pen, and he owned many manuscripts in the collection of the Société des Missionnaires de Saint Paul.
