Münster, Sebastian, 1489-1552

German and Swiss Franciscan monk, who converted to Protestantism. He was a Hebraist, cosmographer and geographer, and lexicographer, who studied at Universität Tübingen and taught at Universität Basel and Universität Heidelberg. Aside from his publication of a cosmography in German, he edited translations of the Hebrew Bible and produced dictionaries for Latin, Greek, and Hebrew.
