Cosimo II, Grand Duke of Tuscany, 1590-1621
Cosimo II de' Medici was Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1609 until his death in 1621. During his 12-year-reign, he entrusted governance in the hands of ministers. He was a patron of science and letters, most notably of his former tutor Galileo Galilei (1564-1642).
