Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria, 1573-1651
Member of the House of Wittelsbach, who reigned during the Thirty Years' War. He was Duke of Bavaria (from 1597), and Elector Palatine and Elector of Bavaria (from 1623). He augmented the art collection of the Wittelsbach.
