Callisthenes, of Olynthus, approximately 370 BCE-approximately 328 BCE

Greek historian, the nephew of Aristotle, known for his history on the Third Sacred War, a 10-book Hellenica (covering 386-356), and a text on the deeds of Alexander (covering events until 330). He was executed in 327 for his refusal to perform the respectful gesture of proskynesis to Alexander, along with his supposed participation in the Pages' Conspiracy (Conspiracy of Hermolaus).
