Italian publisher and printer born in Bassiano, Italy, and died in Venice. He was printer, publisher, and grammarian. A noted humanist, he worked to edit and publish Greek, Italian, and Latin text using new typography and printing format. The success of his press created a family printing dynasty in Venice.
