General notes

Description
Scholars have disagreed as to whether Jaghmīnī lived early 13th c. or mid 14th c., and some have suggested that there are 2 different Jaghmīnīs; however, Ragep introduces new manuscript evidence and argues convincingly that one Jaghmīnī wrote both textbooks, one on astronomy and one on medicine, along with other introductory scientific works, in the late 12th to early 13th centuries in Central Asia under the reign of the Kwārizm Shāhs
