Langlois, Jérome Martin, 1779-1838

French painter of the Neo-classical style, who won the Prix de Rome in 1805 and 1809. He exhibited at the Parisian Salon between the years of 1806 and 1837.

Langlois, Jérome-Martin; history and portrait painter, born in Paris on March 11, 1779, died the same place on December 28, 1838; his father was the miniaturist Jérome Langlois; won a Prix de Rome in 1805 (2nd prize) and 1809 (first prize), and returned to France in 1815; his work was displayed at the Salon from 1806-1837; Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1822
