Mayno, de' Mayneri, approximately 1290-1368

Italian physician and astrologer. He studied and taught medicine at the Université de Paris He wrote manuals on preventive health and hygiene, in particular Liber regiminis sanitatis. As an astrologer, he had noble patrons in Italy and produced a text (Libellus de preservatione ab epydemia) that identified the cause of the Black Death as astrological.
