Description
Born in 1655 in Eyüp, Istanbul; entered Dîvân-ı Hümâyun Kalemi because of poetic skills and rose to the rank of clerk; rose through the ranks as chief of council, treasurer, then was appointed reîsul-kuttap in 1694 and again in 1697; served as a diplomatic delegate; was appointed governor of Cyprus, then Egypt; died in Rhodes in 1708
