Anṭākī (Family : Aleppo, Syria)

Family in Antioch and Aleppo. Beginning with ʻAbd al-Masīḥ ibn al-Maqdisī Mīkhāʼīl Ilyās Anṭākī Turjumān, a scribe who copied a manuscript inherited by his four sons, the family collected and owned manuscripts. In 1957, Tiyūdūr al-Anṭākī assembled the collection and gave the entire library of his deceased father to the library of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch. Before this, he gave some of his own manuscripts to the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Gregory IV Ḥaddād (ca. 1910).

Description
Family starts with عبد المسيح ابن المقدسي ميخائيل الياس انطاكي ترجمان=ʻAbd al-Masīḥ ibn al-Maqdisī Mīkhāʼīl Ilyās Anṭākī Turjumān who copied (MARI 137) in 1763, and passed away before 1817 when his 4 children wrote that they inherited (MARI 267) from him. His son Ḥanna continued in owning manuscript (see MARI 138 in 1827 CE). Probably Ḥannā had a son whose name is also ʻAbd al-Masīḥ and he makes confusion with the grandfather in many cases (see MARI 137 again), and another son called Tīdūrī (MARI 82 and 168, 1851 CE, who might also be one of the 4 sons) but the evidence is scarce. Somewhere from one of these family threads comes the most prominent person al-Īkūnīmūs Kīrullus Anṭākī=الايكونوموس كيرللس الانطاكي (late 19th century-beginning 20th century) who formed a whole collection putting his seal on it. In 1957 CE, his son Tiyūdūr or Tadūrī or Tiydūrī al-Anṭākī=تيودور/ تدوري /تيودوري الانطاكي gave the whole library of his deceased father to the library of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch. Before this he gave some of his own manuscripts to the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Gregory IV Ḥaddād (ca. 1910).
