Catholic Church. Congregatio Concilii
Congregatio Concilii was founded by Pope Pius IV with the full name of Sacra congregatio cardinalium Concilii Tridentini interpretum. It was the congregation of the Roman Curia responsible for overseeing matters regarding priests and deacons not belonging to religious orders. The Congregatio Concilii handled requests for dispensation from active priestly ministry, as well as the legislation governing presbyteral councils and other organisations of priests around the world. It changed its names to the Congregatio pro Clericis in 1967.
