Colégio de São Lourenço (Porto, Portugal)

Jesuit college founded by the Jesuits in 1577. In 1614, major funding for its completion was provided by Fra Luís Álvaro de Távora, baillif Leça and Lango, and commander of Poiares of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. In 1759, the college was closed and was later donated to the Universidade de Coimbra in 1774. The college was then sold to the Augustinian Recollects in 1780, who used the buildings until 1832. In 1834, it was governed as part of the Seminário Maior do Porto.
