Couvent de Saverne (France)
The original convent belonged to a women's community of Augustinian Recollects, founded in 1303, whence they had moved from their original location in Steigen. In 1483, Pope Sixtus IV closed the women's community, and in Bishop Alfred of Strasbourg gave the convent to the Franciscans in 1488. In 1571, Bishop Jean de Mandersheid turned the convent into a Jesuit College, who left the building in 1582 for Molsheim. The Franciscans returned in 1595 (and definitively in 1601), where they stayed until it was closed in 1791.
