Abbaye d'Aulnay (Aunay-sur-Odon, France)

Abbey of Cistercians founded on July 15, 1131 by Jourdan de Say and his wife Lucie. Under the jurisdiction of the Abbey of Savigny, it was affiliated to Clairvaux in 1157. They abbey was consecrated on April 29, 1190. The abbey enjoyed a prosperous existence and founded two daughter abbeys: Val-Sainte- Mary of Crokesden in England (1178) and Torigni-sur-Vire (Manche, 1308). Closed during the Revolution in 1790.
