Convent of Santa Teresa of Jesús (Cospicua, Malta)

A convent of Discalced Carmelites was authorized by the Definitorio Generale of 18 December 1624 to provide a college or seminary to train missionaries for the Middle East or Arabic speaking nations. Property for the friars was purchased in Cospicua by Bishop Baldassare Cagliares (1575?-1633) on December 11, 1625. The community was populated in 1626.
