Franjevački samostan Guča Gora

Originally established as a monastery in the 14th century by the Franciscans, it was destroyed by the end of the 15th century after the conquest of Bosnia by the Ottomans. In the 18th century, the Franciscans intensified their presence in the region, once again building a small house in Guča Gora, first as a hospice (1757), which became a parish in 1840. In the 19th century, Bosnian Franciscans chose Guča Gora as the site of a monastery in the Travnik area; construction began in 1857 and it was officially proclaimed in 1859.
