Catholic Church. Congregatio Sacrorum Rituum

The Congregatio Sacrorum Rituum was founded by Sixtus V and has exclusive charge of the liturgy and liturgical books. It also deals with the proceedings in the beatification and canonization of saints. Paul VI suppressed the Congregatio Sacrorum Rituum on May 8, 1969, splitting its responsibilities into the Congregatio pro Cultu Divino and Congregatio pro Causis Sanctorum.
