Saint John's Pottery

Located on the campus of Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, The Saint John's Pottery includes a studio, gallery, and a wood-fired climbing kiln named "Johanna," after art historian Sister Johanna Becker, OSB. The pottery is directed by Richard Bresnahan, who founded the pottery at the university in 1979 and is artist-in-residence at Saint John's University and the College of Saint Benedict. The pottery engages students, apprentices, and visiting artists.

The Saint John's Pottery was established in 1979, in the cellar of Saint Joseph Hall, by Richard Bresnahan, with a wood-fired climbing kiln named "Takigama"; new studio and wood-fired noborigama kiln (named "the Johanna Kiln") was built across campus, with its inaugural firing in 1995
