Saint-Thierry (Abbey)
Benedictine monastery in Marne. Originally founded by Theodoric of Mont d'Hor in the 5th or 6th century, it was Benedictine from 972 and connected to the Maurists from 1627 or 1628 until 1695, when the monastery was abolished by Louis XIV, a closure that was ratified by the Pope in 1696. The monks briefly traveled to Reims, returned to Saint-Thierry later and were finally expelled in 1777.
