Ar-Rašīd Abū ʼl-Ḥair ibn aṭ-Ṭaiyib; writings primarily defend the Christian faith, and date from 1204 until ca. 1245 at latest; doctor and a priest; in the service of vizier Taqī ad-dīn (ʻOmar) under the sultan Utman Ṣalāḥ ad-dīn (1193-1193), whom he mentions in the prologue of one of his works
