Walther Ekhardi was a jurist and city clerk, who wrote Die Neun Bücher des Magdeburger Rechts around approximately 1400-1402, creating a legal compilation that influenced civil law in Central and Eastern Europe. He also wrote the Thorner Formelbuch, a formula book for law firms in Toruń.
