Brölmann, Stephan, 1551-1622

Stephan was a lawyer for the city of Cologne and professor of law at the University of Cologne. He also researched the history of Cologne using scientific approaches that compared his sources--the manuscript of a monk from Kloster Eberbach and the Annales Colonienses maximi--against archaeological evidence. He also taught at the Gymnasium Laurentianum, producing in 1581 a school play on the death of Saint Lawrence that was performed annually for years
