Strozzi, Lorenzo di Filippo, 1482-1547

Italian patron of art from the Strozzi family in Florence. He was in the banking business with his brother, Filippo, and then settled on property investment, as his real interest was in engaging Florentine cultural circles. He is best known as patron of Niccolò Machiavelli.
