Salutati, Coluccio, 1331-1406

Italian notary, government official, and humanist writer, who was chancellor of the Florentine Signoria and responsible for the circulation of government correspondences. As an author of philosophical and historical treatises, an orator, and a collector of manuscripts, he was part of a network of humanists that included Petrarch and Boccaccio.
