Stephan, von Dorpat, active 1357-1375

Stephan was a cleric and schoolmaster who adapted both the Catonis disticha and De ludo scachorum by Jacobus de Cessolis into Middle Low German verse--known as Cato and Schachbuch, respectively. He lived in Dorpat (now Tartu) or at least in the Dorptic diocese, dedicating his Schachbuch to the bishop there, Johannes von Fyffhusen.
