Silvatico, Matteo, approximately 1285-approximately 1342

Italian physician and botanist, whose family served the Angevin court. Around 1332, he completed a popular pharmacological encyclopedia, entitled Liber pandectarum medicinae, which contained the Latinized names of plant with Greek and Arabic nomenclature.
