Fischer, Maximilian, 1782-1851
Austrian Augustinian canon and historian. He joined Stift Klosterneuburg as a novice in 1801, was ordained a priest in 1806, and shortly thereafter he became first the deputy librarian and, in 1812, took up his role as the librarian and archivist for the monastery. He was pastor of Höflein from 1822 until he returned to Klosterneuburg in 1828, serving as administrator of the monastery parish, director of the monastery's school, treasurer (1835), and archivist (1837).
