Simon, Hyacinthe, 1867-1922

French Dominican translator and lexicographer active in Iraq and Syria. He translated various works into French and produced texts on verbs in Turkish, Syriac, and Armenian into French. He also compiled a French-Arabic dictionary. However, he is perhaps best known for his perspectives on the Armenian genocide, in a work entitled Mardine la ville héroïque: Autel et tombeau de l'Arménie durant les massacres de 1915.
