Porcia, Jacopo di, conte, 1462-1538

Italian soldier, writer, and historian. He fought for the Republic of Venice in the war with the League of Cambrai. He wrote several treatises, among them were histories concerning the politics and military affairs of Venice and the Ottoman invasions. An advocate for public school in his province, he authored a text on the education of children (De liberorum educatione).
