Grigor Vardapet, Tatʻewatsʻi, 1346-1409

Renowned medieval Armenian vardapet-theologian, abbot of Tatʻew monastery until his death in 1409. His most famous work is his encyclopedic compilation, a multivolume Book of Questions [Girk‘ harts‘mants‘], completed in 1397. He also composed sermons and commentaries. He was an apologist of Armenian Christianity agonists the challenges of the Unitors and Armeno-Latin relations.
