Wysz, Peter, 1354?-1414

Polish canonist, theologian, and lawyer who studied law in Padua, then became a master of the faculty of arts at Prague and served as the first chancellor of the university in Kraków. He was a councilor to Queen Jadwig and King Władysław II, acting as ambassador to the Council of Pisa in 1409.

Description
"Petrus (or Piotr) Wysz (d. 1414), a Padua-trained lawyer, who was a notable figure in the political and ecclesiastical life of Poland in the years on either side of 1400. Having become master of the faculty of arts at Prague University, he played an important part in the establishment of the University of Cracow, of which he was the first chancellor. Bishop of Cracow and Posen, he was also a councillor to Queen Jadwig and her husband King Władysław II, serving the latter as ambassador to the Council of Pisa in 1409."
