Zenzelinus, de Cassanis, -1334

French jurist, who was professor of canon law at the Université de Montpellier and chaplain to Cardinal Arnaud de Via (d. 1335) and Pope John XXII (1244-1334) at Avignon. From 1325 to 1335, he served the Avignon curia in legal capacities and received several benefices. He wrote commentaries on (and was executor of) the decretals of John XXII as well as on the Sext and Clementines.
