- Ottoman historian, died after 985/1578; born in 939/1532 in Thessaloniki; historian referred to as Mehmed Zaîm; referred to himself as Kâtib Mehmed Bey; participated in Şikloş expedition (950/1543) and lived in Belgrade; lived in Baghdad; worked in entourage of Grand Vizier Sokullu Mehmed Pasha as a clerk; his only known work is Câmiuʼt-tevârîh, which he started writing in 985/1577 and finished in 1578; general world history
