Tethinger, Johann Pedius, approximately 1490-

From 1535-1553, Tethinger was dean of the Latin school in Freiburg (Freiburger Lateinschule), which at the time was affiliated with the Universität Freiburg im Breisgau. He also published letters from Desiderius Erasmus, composed distichs about Freiburg and Herdern, and composed a verse history about Herzog Ulrich von Württemberg, the wars against the Schwäbischen Bund, and the reconquest of parts of Württemberg in 1525 and 1534. It was published twice, first in 1534 as Quattuor bella Wirtembergensia, and again in 1545 as Wirtembergiae libri duo with a prose commentary and additions.
