Leonhard, von Laiming, Prince-Bishop of Passau, 1381-1451

Leonhard, von Laiming, Prince-Bishop of Passau (1381-1451) studied in Vienna and Bologna, obtaining the degree of Doctor decretorum. He was a cleric in Salzburg and a canon in Passau before he was elected bishop of the prince-bishopric of Passau in 1423 and confirmed in 1424. Afterwards, he supported Austrian politics as chancellor of Alrecht II. He attended the Council of Basel, where he tried to mediate with Pope Eugene IV.
